Sergeant Kehoe is a snare drum solo I composed in 2025. It consists of five movements and lasts approximately seven minutes. The title of the work is a reference to a community member of Flint Michigan, and a parent to a fellow student Flint School for the Performing Arts (which I attended from 2016-2022) who sadly passed away in 2020. I also reference the snare drum excerpt “Lieutenant Kije” by Prokofiev in the title and in the first and final movements of the composition.
